Biggest flathead of the year

2006 has been a hard year for me to catch a decent flathead..But I guess a blind squirrel can find a nut every now and then:D..I caught this one last night, it was around 30-lbs, was caught on a ugly stik tiger rod, abu 6500 reel, and 20-lb test berkly big game..Gold fish was the bait..Caught and released.

Jack said bout 30lbs but that is the biggest 30lb fish I ever seen!

That when you know someone has caught some big old cats in their time when they hold up a monster like that an tell you "oh bout 30 lbs"

Wont mention any name but we had one of our top flathead fisherman
members get broke off using 80lb test line not very long ago.:rolleyes:

I agree with the others.You just have to get a scale.If Hushpuppy or I get one that big I'll never get the stink out of the boat.Congratulations on a really nice catch.Any fish is fun to catch,but one that size on 20# line is a trophy in my book.

i have seen a few 30 lbs but theylooked smaller then your fish i have one posted on the site but it sure looks smaller the mohawk
