We apoligise for some of the problems that have come up as a result of us changing servers. There is a lot going on while this move is going on.
I, myself was experencing problems not being able to do or go to certain threads and posts.
I found out this morning from my son Jeremy that the quick fix for this problem is to restart your computer. Your PC is confused by the server move and will fix this problem on its own but it takes time. So, a restart fixes it right away.
If your problem still exhists after restarting please notify one of our staff members. Thanks for your patience, Schoe

Another option for XP machines, is to drop to dos (for those of you who know how to do this) and type ipconfig /flushdns
That will reset your computers stored Domain Name Services addressing and force it to re-lookup websites.
To "drop to dos" do the following:
Go to start, then run, and type cmd and click on ok.
That will bring up a black and white DOS box. It should say something like c:\Documents and Settings>_
the _ will be a blinking cursor.
That is where you will type ipconfig /flushdns
then press enter
When it is done, simply type exit.

Ifin' y'all had one of them things I got out back, you wouldn't have to worry about "flushin' nuttin'" Just throw a little "lime dust" on it every-now and then...

Ok, computers don't have a "Take a Hike" error message. Gotta know EXACTERLY what it said to know what caused it.

Could not flush the DNS resolver Cache: Function failed during execution
happens on both mine an Dianne's puters, was thinking more likely somthing
to do with how the router is set up than anything on this cuz my IP at command prompt different than IP at other side of router

Sounds like you have static IP on your PC. With that being the case. Power off both of your PC's AND the router. Leave the router off at least 30 secs. Then power everything back on. If you are still having difficulty, you may need to check with the router's manufacturer on how to flush the DNS of your router. Mine has a simple IP address to enter into IE and then I click a button to flush it.

Yep that is what I figger too, used to be able to just pull up network an flush it from control panel on computer, then the cable phone got installed an it all went little wierd on me
I have the documentation on it..but while back Beenie
"re-organized" my closet spaces an many tings are much more difficult to find
than they used to be
need to figger out how to flush router, have had it unplugged an reset an beat on
Might need to just unplug everything an start over from scratch like first install on the router since Dianne has new computer on line too
it works now just won't let me do some functions, so not harmful just annoying

I believe the default IP to log into the config of a linksys router is 192.168.1.100
Not positive on that though.

Tried that not getting to it, going to have to have concerted effort here to find the router instructions, I know I have it just not sure where it ended up in the re org of my closet when many things were "added" to the space in there that were not mine :-(

simplify your life, go to linksys.com and DOWNLOAD the instructions.

I get so few chances to snivel at the Beenie as it is for "valid" reasons, an now you go an take another one away from me
(good idea by the way, had the site bookmarked I bookmark manufacturer links to any equipment I buy, pretty good stuff there, an they often give you
some pretty good deals if you belong to their websites
Get some real good online classes and REALLY GOOD support from HP for everything of theirs I own)
