What is your favorite type of hook?

What hooks do you all prefer?? Size??

I prefer kahle hooks, anywhere from 3/0 to 9/0.

I use Kahle most frequently, but use all types depending on situation

I always use the very smallest hook I can get away with, and even when
using live baits will use quick strike type rigs with small hooks as opposed
to the huge circles that some will use

They don't make but 1 kind of hook for these big Blues.........#2,#1,1/0,2/0, and 3/0 treble.. Eagle Claw !

I use a lot of plastic baits so most of my hooks are J type worm hooks. I've just started usein circle hooks for live or dead bait applications. Havin trouble not settin the hook but i'm gettin the hang of it.

Pegleg: I'm not that familiar with the "circle hooks" but, my understanding of them is that you really don't have to try too hard to set them because they more or less suppose to set themselves...(when the fish takes the bait).. So, maybe your trying too hard??? Just my cent and a half.

Soupy,i may catch some flack over this,but IMO them circle hooks,just
dont do it for me,im to used to settin the hook my self,not used to lettin
the hook do the work,ive tried an tried to give them an honest try,and
I dont likem,if you decide to try them Dont buy any,i will give you all

I still have some in my glove box in the truck.... I just think they'll work for what kind of fishin' I do.... I like them big ole treble hooks ! Hard to miss a fish with them.

circle hooks are great for young uns to start cattin with. thats why i started usin em for the boys. aint nothin better if the cats are runnin a bait but if theyre just peckin change hooks for sure.took me forever to git used to not settin the hook. aint caught nuttin on soupys rig yet but i will....fore this trebles were sposed to be used on crankbaits an cheesebait.bet when i git one itll be THE big un lol

I like kahle hooks, I use 7/0 for channel cats and 10/0 for blues and flatheads. If I had to pick just one size kahle for all my catfishing I'd go with the 7/0, I have caught catfish from 2lb channels to 45lb flatheads on the 7/0 kahles. The main reason I went to the 10/0 size was to handle some of the bait I use, the 7/0 was just too small for some of the gills i use for bait.
