Went down to Clinton lake this morning with Rain man and met up with the Fish Whisperer, Lonnie, and couldn't get any where close to the warm water discharge as they had it roped off.
It was so windy that we had a problem with our anchor holding over the good looking spots so we settled for a shallow side out of the wind. Ray and I caught one channel each and a drum and one white bass on chicken liver. Lonnie got two nice channels on liver and shad pockets.
Headed home early, too windy will try again later on. Schoe

Well after I got home I put my spare one in the boat just in case I get into problems like that again. Schoe

Lon, When do the Walleyes turn on there in Clinton lake? I sure would like to try them out. Is there elec. hookups there in the camp ground and are any of the sites close to the water. I guess I should have looked things over when we were there but my partner had obligations he had to get back for.

Clinton lake is a place I want to return to and explore some more. I'm going to have to get a map of the lake. I'm not sure which ramp you were referring to but we had to put in at the Marina ramp as the other one was closed for a special hunt for the handicapped. It was so windy that we weren't able to to fish some of the spots that looked like the cats were holding.
I especially want to give her a try for Walleye. Do you fish it much for them in the spring?
I would like to bring the camper down and fish a few days to learn the lake better. Possibly we could get a group together some weekend . Thanks Schoe

Well, that was my second time on the lake, and I've caught one channel both times. Would love to go back in the spring and try her again. I don't mind the drive, as long as the wind doesn't blow like all hades again.
