1. my friend has some gold carp in his like I dont know the exact name though any help?

2. and my recent thread "carp baits" I was reffering to grass carp, I wanted to know if there were any good baits for these fish, because I know they get spooked easily...people say they've snagged carp but I dont believe in snagging..it's not fair for the fish:)..so, can anyone help me please?

Well Josh, I have always heard that the Grass Carp won't take a bait as they are a plankton and algae eater. But, last year Timotha was fishing for Gills with me at a lake where we get our Flathead bait when his light rod with 6 lb. line went nuts and being an experienced fisherman he beached for a few seconds a Grass Carp that probably weighed between 25 and 30 lbs. that was hooked in the mouth and took a worm. So who knows, Schoe

lol hmmm they look like the carp i catch did notice tho that in WYO, where I am orig from, carp are yellow and down here in TX more of a dull yellow. Personally they all look alike and are a blast to catch let me look and see if I can find a pic I had of me and one. What do you wanna target just carp for??? What do you do with them??

they are a freakin blast to catch i think

the last bigen i got went from the center of the lot to one side and back to the other side got wrapped u in 5 other poles i had set out (i fish for everthing and that many poles does not improve odds either) had to call Miss Betty down from house to help net it. Ever try and make cell phone call while reelin in a bigun?? not the easiest task. GREAT FIGHT THO

Grass carp have to be snagged. I worked with the Iowa DNR 15 years ago to try and get 5 very large grass carp from a pond that they were put in to help with vegitation problems. After 3 years they created the opposite problem. They were devistating the vegitation and reducing the habitat for the game fish. No boats are allowed on this small clear water lake so we would walk the banks with 7'6" H action rods and burn big snagging trebles out past the carp when they would surface and try to snag them. Well, it didn't work due to the fact that they were so spooky. They wound up calling in a scuba team with spear guns to harvest the fish.
As far as the golden carp go, sometimes its just a color change they go thru in certain waters or it could be Koi...

The grass Carp or White Amour in question were put in lakes and ponds to control the weed population and were not supposed to multiply, but, someone forgot to tell the fish that because at a local lake near where I live there were some stocked there quite a few years ago and have been harvested several times by commercial fishermen using Trammel nets. I don't mean they took some out but tons. Schoe

They will devistate a small pond in no time.

No, but if it is a small pond they will end up doing just that to the rest of the fish once they destroy all the vegitation.
