The word is out! supposed to be serious on state threads.
Fishing in the IL. Quad Cities area for panfish is somewhat limited by Ill. regulations.
Snake Den area near Victoria-- Many small lakes and ponds holding a variaty of panfish - Bluegill-Red Ear- 10 fish limit combined- Crappie- 5 fish limit
Citizens Lake Monmouth, Il. Bluegill-Red Ear 10 fish limit combined
Gladstone Lake, Gladstone, Il. Bluegill-Red Ear 10 fish limit combined. Crappie -no limit all tiny.
Citizens and Gladstone are both handy to fish because they are on a major route out of the state of Il when I go to Iowa.
It doesn't get any more serious than that. Mike

This upcoming Spring will launch only my 2nd season of fishing. I've learned a lot from others and am looking forward to besting my 9lb - 11oz Channel of last year. I am presently a bank fisherman and hit the Rock River in Rock Falls almost every weekend.
I'm hopeing to have a boat in the near future and expect that to open up my selection of areas to fish. I hear that there are some BIG Flatheads up near the dams in the Rock Falls/Sterling area. Would love to hear some of my Illinois brothers and sisters chime in here and tell me about there Illinois fishing adventures.

Hi Guys, from Woodhull IL here. Fish Lake Storey, Snake Den, Oak Run, the Rock(when Schoe will let go with:D ), and Powerton near Pekin. I'll fish for anything, but nothing beats a good Channel Cat bite on a warm June night.

I am from Sterling and I am lucky my son-in-law has a boat. Do to some health reasons I didn't get out much last year but will hit them hard this year.
Never been lucky enough (maybe not good enough) to get into those flatheads everyone talks about arround here. BUT the stories!!! LOL
We have had about 15 eagles nesting at Lawerence Park this winter. Due to the open water below the lower dam.
Anyone wanting a lesson on catching big flat on the lower Rock, best contact Schoe for a time of your life. Right Ray?

I live in Bolingbrook (southwest surburban Chicago). I used to be a multi-species angler, the last four years I have concentrated on carp. Not just carp, but big carp. I regularily fish the Des Plaines River, the Heritage Quarries in Lemont, Lake Storey, Miller Park Lake, Homer Lake, the Chicago lakefront harbors and I really want to get back to Heidecke this year. I am the Illinois State Chairman for the Carp Anglers Group and am always looking for someone new to fish with or a new place to fish for carp. I have a lot of extra tackle and do not mind driving a couple of hundred miles. Sam.
