Big Creek is one of my favorite lakes in the state
While not a very large body of water, it offers an incredible variety of
depths and structues
Walleye, Bass, Tiger Musky, Bluegill, Crappie and Channel Cat fishing in the lake is
very good if you know the water
Personally have taken bass around 8 lbs and walleye that ran lil over 12 and half lbs
Crappie fishing can be outstanding as well
Channel Cat fishing is excellent with great population of "eaters" (those tastey silver devils!)
and a nice population of channels in 8-10 lb range
My biggest ran around 18-19 caught on leech fishing close to bottom in area of a
crappie xmas tree bed
I think one of the secrets to this lake is fishing it at night
The east side of the lake remains open 24/7 and there is some great fishing
off jettys and off the shoreline as well as a couple boat ramps that are
accessable from that side of the lake
Crappie bite well at nite, generally move into the areas right off the ends
of the rock points or in shallow water with down logs or structure in it
Lake is very clear and clean a pretty body of water
NO camping at the lake proper, but it actually spills over into Saylorville so there
is camping all in the area and Saylorville can provide some excellent fishing
as well
