Hi,
Where can you fish for Crappie, ( Bass & catfish) near Lamar Ms? Please share any information on close lakes or rivers that are near Slayden to Walnut area besides the obvious Damns and reservoir's. I am also located off of Hwy 72.

Thanks
Cindy:confused:

I don't live there but went to the Miss DNR site checked it over an made
phone call and State Lake down by Ripley has good rep for fishing ( Got no idea how it is named? or if it is at all)

Maybe Tee has hit this water an could chime in as well, sometimes the DNR people
give some reports that might be bit overinflated

Guy I spoke to said nice population of Bass, Crappie, Bream, Red Ear an
Channels in the lake
Below are particulars pulled off the Miss DNR site
Hope this helps a little

Tippah County Lake (the one Tim is talking about) is about 50 miles from her, that is why I didn't mention it. It is good fishing because it is a "pet project" of the state. If you look at the state record list for Mississippi, several of the records came from this lake. But if ya wanna go, let me know, it is always time to fish

Shoould be able to pick up both Bucket mouoths and smallies on the points and rock walls around that time.
What part of the lake will you be fishing?
When it gets a little closer to your time, I'll try to give you some specific locations, depending on how fast the water warms up.
