Hooper is about 4 miles south of where I live in Indianola
It is a small impoundment with deepest water probably not much over
12-13 feet
Bass, Channel Cats, Crappie, and Blue Gill (reputed to have very large gills,
though I have not personally found that honey hole in there yet)
also rumors of flatheads, though I have yet to see one taken out of there
Bass run upwards of 5 lbs, crappie and gills (*that I have caught) are
"decent" channels are nice eating size and with the clean water nice
table fare
Lot of "timber" sticking up all over
Best fishing I have found is along the dam face just off the road
and just south of the boat ramp are my favorite sit down an fish
spots
Great place to take the kids, terrain is easy to manuver around in
and you can generally find gills of "hand size" about anywhere which is
great fun when you have the grands with you
