R.J. you've just landed in one of the premier fishing area's in all of Florida. The Chipola River....Dead Lakes....and....the Apalachicola River are less than a 30 minute drive from where you are at. They have about every kind of fresh water fishing in that area that you can imagine....AND....if you like to tangle with some big ole Flathead Catfish then you sure enought have landed pretty close to paradise. For more info on fishing there, send a PM to wewamohawk (Maurice Sawatis) or wewasar (Don Minchew) both from Wewahitchka. Also check out the Northern Florida (panhandle) threads for more info. Hope this helps....Ray

Thanks for the replies. What I am looking for is some places inshore saltwater. Maybe some artificial reefs. Or shell beds. Some good hotspots where I can take the bass boat. I am used to fishing Biloxi waters so coming here where the water is clean and clear flips me out. Take care

Its an old Ranger, 1980 model. 275v with a 175 evin on it. Just my old beater. I prefer to have an old boat so I dont get that upset when something happens to it. Its been a great boat though. Cant complain. I am doing some maintenance on it right now, so I hope to have some fishing holes when I get it ready. Take Care

R.J. on calm days you can fish the jetties at the pass in panama city beach...or the hathaway bridge...winter time you can fish the hot water discharge ditch in the bay...theres tons of flats and cuts off the bay to fish...

the spanish macks are starting to run at the jetties..sheephead on any structure..jetties or bridges..

Jimmys area and port st.joe has excellent inshore fishing too......

dang i can't wait to get down there!
