Canyon Ferry Reservoir Ice Fishing Trip

Went fishing today at Canyon Ferry Reservoir. Ice is about 24" and fishing was great caught my limit of 5 rainbows in about 45 minutes. heavy fog made it almost impossible to see where you were in the early am but burned off by about 10. all fish were caught in about 7 !/2 feet of water using dark colored jighead woolly buggers tipped with maggots.

Have never had trout as table fare but hear it is excellent
and sure seems anything caught through the ice is outstanding eating
