I had a couple of hours to get out by myself today to the Inland Canal at White City landing north of Port St Joe.
This was the first time I had a chance to throw the Vibrashock Lures that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I put on the brown colored one that I thought may fool the Red Fish into thinking it was a Shrimp.
Believe me I haven't used artificials all that much so this was a new experience for me. I threw it into and around tree tops giving it a up and down pumping action in the 6 to 12 ft. of water.
On the fourth cast, Wam, I wasn't expecting that and set the hook in an undersized freight train, a Red Fish that was one inch short of keeper size which was released after I took a picture. About 20 minutes later and a sore arm from casting connected again with another one a little shorter than the first which also went back .
That was enough casting for a while so I went looking for some Croakers for the pan. In the next hour I caught a nice bunch of Croakers, enough for a couple of meals so I picked up the rod with the lure on and drifted the shore line throwing to the wood in the water.
I have been shocked by 110 lots of times and what I experienced with the next bite I had felt more like 440. That fish was a beautiful 23" Red which gave me one of the best fights I have ever had.
Here's a couple of today's pics. Thanks GotstaFish Tackle. Schoe
