Dubuque

Anyone know where a good place in or around Dubuque Iowa to fish for carp and camp. I'm going there this year and haven't been there before.

Well I don't know how much this is gonna help but I know there is some campgrounds near the river there and you could always fish the River?? Not sure about any lakes if thats what your looking for.....

Been years since I was there but there was a little campground right
by the dog track
has shoreline access to wing dam where that has a nice flat sand
bar in front of it
Wing was good fishing for walleyes and would tend to suspect that
the shallows in front of it might be good place to look for carp

I have met a fishergal on line and she lives there, So I'm going fishing there after I get back from Austin. She said she was out in this last rain doing a rain dance for warm weather, So we might get along just fine. Yes I'm looking for a place to camp and fish right on the river or lake.

The place I was talking about is within viewing distance of the dog track
sits down in a little bowl right on the river
Also within couple hundred yards of the boat ramp where we launched
when we fished in the MWC tourneys up there

Part of it is a cut that goes back and is rip rapped, and direct below is
that wing dam and sand bar I was talking bout

We stayed in tent, by electric hook up :-)

Nice clean little place

I'm working on one in IL. also, Who knows I might even make it to FL. ha ha
Just trying out the old chemistry set one of my experiments might work out one of these days, And turn this old frog into a prince.

well hold that thought, cus I was lookin at a house today, and if I get what I think I might get....... my front yard is a canal to the lake with a boat ramp and boat slip... OK, I dont have a boat, but I can still bank fish off the dock! :D

:D Thanks, Im liking this place more and more... just dont want to get my hopes up... other one I looked at, the canal was my back yard and my own boat ramp... but ramp looked like it was broken off and didnt go down into water... didnt want to look too close cus of them BIG Lizards that might be there :p
