News Flash form Tennessee,All catfish have been upgraded to Game Fish
no longer considered a rough fish like Carp an Buffalo, all it does is give
the Cats the resecpt that they deserve,no limits or regulations changed.
Its bout time they finally get whats due to them. Kirk
Thanks for the info Kirk.
We (those of us that fish Tennesse) have been working very hard to keep the "34 inch rule". Here is a link to an article in the Chattanoogan about the state of Catfishing in Tennessee.
I haven't heard about the change to "game fish". And I can't find anything on the TWRA website. Where did you get the info? It will change the way we can fish for cats in Tennessee if it's not classified as a "non game" fish, and will make it off limits to commercial fishing according to the current state regs.

That is outstanding news!
Tenn was the leader in establishing slot limits and it was those regs and the reasons behind them which were thrown at the Ohio Pols to get their regs
changed to protect cats from netting for sale to pay lakes in Ohio regulated
waters
