went to the wabash yesterday,dodgin t-storms an all. river was oughtta its banks a bit still.aint after no lil ones usin bout 6 inch live shad,80lb braided on all my rods.my brand new rods lil larger on the butt section than the rest an needs a lil bit of care gittin in the rod holder an my new penn reel is great. im gittin there soupy,hold on. git to my second spot git my rods out an turn around ta git a drink of coffee an felt sumptin move. git turned back round an my bran new rods dang near bent all the way down to the water. jump up an commence ta pullin an cant do NUTTIN. got 80 lb braided ,rod rated ta 8 oz. an somebody forgot ta loosen the drag when he was playin with it the night before.after bout a minute of tugin i git the rod free an lossen the drag a bit.this fish aint happy bout the whole situation im tellin ya.takes off down river bout a 100 yds an jus quits an goes ta rollin on the surface. can tell right away hes the biggest blue i ever seen,(kinda new ta blues) an start shakin a bit while i try an ease him back up river.got bout 5mph current goin on. git him up next to the boat an cant net the blame thing! after bout 5 minutes i give up tryin ta net it grab the line an as soon as i touch him he rolls an the hook comes out.aint got a clue how big it was cept way bigger than the one i got last summer that broke my scale at 34lbs. didnt git a nother hit on shad the rest of the day but did git 9 sturgeon on the rod i had rigged with crawlers:mad: ........there ya go soupy...throw it at me

Well, now I see what you're talkin' about DUMMY !
Glad you finally got a hold of one of them things I'd been tellin' you about...The Penn will hold 'em ifin ya just remember to let the reel work for you.
Been there done that... Some I couldn't even git back to the boat....
My last "Big 'un" all I could do was just stand there and hold the rod. ('til the hook finally broke) .. Lyndell got a hold of that one too later on.
Makes ya wanna go home and change underwear don't it.
