Hello all, fished at Micklesons(sp) near Thompson Illinois on Friday ( about 6-7 inches of ice) brought back some nice gills. On monday I went back and caught nothing worth keeping, my brother did get a nice 12 inch large mouth bass but we sent it back down the hole. It is only the second time that my brother and I have been up there so we might not be in gust the right spot. Just sort of set up in the line withe all the other huts.
Tuesday we went to Mautino state FWA near Buda Illinois (4-8 inches of ice depending on which lake) tried a couple of the lakes and caught nothing but a few dinks until the last pond we tried with only 30 min left to fish and caught some nice gills in about 20-30 foot of water.
With all the good weather that Schoe is hoping for i sure hope it dont melt all of the ice.
This is my first year of fishing since I got out of the Army and I am loving it.
PS: Where do you catch walleye out of the ice around here, is there anywhere that you can?
