Here is the only way that I know, and it requires Adobe Photoshop (if someone knows other ways, please tell me because I am sure there is away that doesn't require Photoshop because not every one has this software).
1) Right Click Image and Open With Adobe Photoshop (or just open in Adobe through conventional methods with File, Open, Etc.)
2)On the top bar with File, Edit, Image, Etc. click Image, then Resize, then Image Size. This will display the screen, where you can change pixel image size (most my images are 640x480, so I will use this example).
3) Then, just set the image size to the new pixels (80x80 is the maximum this site will allow). Select the highest number (either height or width) and change to the new designated number (so in the above case choose the 640 and put in 80 as the new pixel size). The other number heigth/width (like 480 in the above case) will/should automatically adjust and retain proper scale. DO NOT try to fill in 80x80 as both heigth and width, this throws off the proper ratio and deforms the picture.
4) Then, just click Okay and keep changes, and then just save if you want to totally change the picture size forever, *or "save as" if you want to keep the old size picture with more detail.
* However, I always want to keep my pictures, so I just usually copy my picture and alter the copies, so I always have the original on my computer with the original details because the more you alter a picture the worse it gets (the old copy of a copy thing).
This also works if you have a large picture that is just to large to post where restrictions are listed.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help with this. I was finally able to upload the pic of one of my favorite spots. I've always loved seeing the many avatar's people use, but hadn't been able to put up one myself.

Mokawk, the directions on the page where you upload were a great help. It took a couple of times adjusting the size in photoshop before I got it right, but I loved the outcome.

I'm just not one for pictures of myself, so I chose to go with a favorite place. I'm hoping now that I finally got a new digital camera I'll catch a good pic of a fish and then I can put it up.
