The lower Hennipin is still giving up a lot of smallish gills. I slipped out today and brought in 20+ keepers and threw back as many in an hour or so. I pitched them back in instead of bringing them home.
For these Canal gills, when you think you have a small jig---Downsize. lol Today they were also Fireline shy. I had to switch to mono. Just enjoyed a nice mess of gills today for lunch.:cool: MMMMMMM Good!! Mike

do you think there are cats in that there canal? I'd sure like to try using some of your keepers for BAIT. LOL

There are cats, and lot of snaping turtles to. I've only caught small channels at the day use area in Atkinson, but hooked into something big by Geneseo a few years ago. It fought me for 5 min before breaking the line.

hi giler its nice to hear that you are getting lots of gills and had a good meal the ones we had in ky were real maurice and lucy
