Mickey and Jim

Last weekend I was invited to go carp fishing at an Iowa lake by a friend.
I arrived at the car park around noon, to an old car show set up in the car park with the attendees cooking lunch. I set about unloading my gear while Mickey worked his charm on the old car group’s attendees. I loaded my wheeled bed chair-trolley and bunged it down. I pasted out a copy of the NACA to an interested party while waiting for my friend to show up at one o’clock. While I was waiting for my friend to show up one of Mickey’s new lady friends from the old car group asked me if I would like a plate of food as they had plenty to spare, so I accepted that witch was so kindly offered. Just as I received the plate of food my friend arrived with his daughter and the son of anther friend so I split the hamburger with Mickey as my friend loaded his gear witch included a shiny new bait boat one of the twin hulled ones.
We went down the hill witch must have been a sight with Mickey on my shoulder and my bed chair- trolley pulling me down the hill to the water and set up our gear and put his bait boat to work strait away. A third friend joined us later with his daughter so that made three kids who delighted in taking Mickey for walks on his leash wherein he promptly headed up the hill and then I would bring him down so the next one could take him for a walk.
The fish started to move into our swim and we started to catch some carp, we fished until after dark and landed eight or nine carp. We packed up and where to fish the next mooning at seven o’clock. I awoke at five thirty to the alarm and drifted back to sleep awoke with a start I had forgot my pod with alarms and swingers on the bank of the lake.
So needless to say I was hoping on my way to the lake upon my arrival at the lake I went down the hill to see my pod still there just as I had left it the night before with my friend set up fishing in the same spot he had fished the day before I was much relived needless to say. We all caught carp thou out the day. Well the kids caught sunfish when they weren’t walking Mickey. I lost count of the fish we caught that week end, But the carp was just the icing on the cake as being with friends was the main thing that I remember about the last week end.
