:confused0024: I'm not into the sport myself, I'm just looking to see if there are any of you Cat fishers here at WIF that might share more info with me on the sport. I'm working on a project and most of my searches just turn up links like this...

I'm looking for the noodler's that wear gloves. Also any of you out there that might just wear gloves while you handle catfish. A direct contact with someone that is involved with a catfish noodling tournament. Even if your a friend of a friend who once knew a guy that had a friend...:icon_biggrin:

Kevin, there is a show on Discovery that is called dirty jobs. They had an episode about noodling. I bet if you email them, and what you are doing is legal, they would be able to get you in touch with them. Best of luck.

Kevin I would sure like to go with someone that really no's how to handfish,I'm not gonna do it but would like to see it done. I will say that if it is the way I understand it, it is done during the nesting peroid, if that is the case I would like to see the fish released to finish what they start.

Thanks for the help all.
FYI... I'm not sticking my hand in any fishes mouth and I'm not going to get in water that I can't see my feet much less what is hiding in a hole ready to bite me. I'm looking for someone who already qualifys for the job and has a good quality camera and would be willing to get me some pictures in trade for some of the best gloves for fishing on the market. I have a extra pair of the Lindy gloves and I need some exotic style pictures for a little idea I have.

Well that makes a lot of since to me, there for a minute, I thought you might be an expert, but I see now you have MY kind of thoughts about that.

I could see the Captain sticking his hand into a hole for a northern up there in MN.:confused0068: Sounds like a blast. I know what a 3lb channel can do to your thumb if you lip it, I don't want to know what a 40 flat head would do to said thumb.

And that is my point! like I said... I just have some gloves and need some pictures for a project. That is all.
As far as trying to noodle for pike ... LOL Back in the day like 20 years ago we did try to catch them with our hands in a shallow creek. It not as easy as it sounds, and I now wish I had a picture of that too:icon_biggrin:
