Hello y'all. Tennessee has some of the best striper fishing in the country. The state record is 65.7lbs caught in the waters I fish most of the time. Caught 20 last Wed. largest was 32lbs. Great day on the water. :evilgrin0039::evilgrin0039:

Well, perhaps we should plan a trip down that way for next year, what do you think Joe? Chet, is there camping facilities available on the lake? And what time of the year would you suggest ?

Thanks for the info and pictures. Schoe

There's an old story that is somewhat the same.

The young fisherman says to the old fisherman lets hurry out and catch a fish.

The old fisherman replied, wait a minute lets take our time and go catch a bunch.

Yeah Joe, I would have a hard time keeping up with you as you are a very hard and dedicated fisherman.

I'd love to do some real striper fishing. Since I've moved here to Tn I've caught about everything there is but a striper.

I've only caught one in Tn, on an artificial. I was trout fishing around Bluff City, right where the S. fork of the Holsten river empties into Boone lake.

Never weighed it, but it measured 36" long and it ruined an afternoon of trout fishing. Took awhile to get that rascal on board so I could retrieve my trout lure.

Joe, what do you think of a road trip.? We could do a little research on the best times to pursue them which I presume is Spring perhaps. It would be nice to get a couple of boats headed that way in 08. Schoe

Heck, when were leaving KY. Lake next year perhaps it would be a good time to get after those Stripers. Shoot, we're darn near there so why not think of that or perhaps before Ky. Lake.

I am definitely up for that if there are any takers. Schoe

I'm always in for a trip to KY Lake since I only live 30 minutes from it. A trip to Knoxville for stripes is probably a go too as long as my wife is ok at the time.

Have boat will fish, as they say.

A six foot snake?! Now I'm not going to sleep good for a few days.

Kirk, save me some of that meat and I will deep fry this fall. If you don't want to mess with cleaning it just remove the head and bleed good and freeze. Schoe

Kirk, watch out bragging about those personal bests. I personally see them as a hazard, but they may be protected. I did my share of ridding the nieghborhood of them.

BTW, congradulations.

There has been talk in florida about putting them on the endangered list,
but so far they have taken no action to do it,They are protected as long
as they stay outta my front yard,we have some 24 to 26 inch copperheads
also, if they follow the rules and stay outta the front yard they will
die of old age other wise:evilgrin0031: Kirk
