I was wondering what some of you guys use when you're targetting perch. Like what kind of set up do you use, bait, etc. Also, does anybody use Eerie Deeries when targeting perch?

Oh yeah, I should've been specific. I'm referring to freshwater perch. I suppose to be specific would be perch here in the Great Lakes, like yellow perch or whatever.

Yeah, Eerie Deeries work really good for walleyes. I was just curious on how well they may work with perch also.

 Hey Rock,
I go out for those Perch here in Waukegan and find them out in 50-70 feet of water. I usually use a fireline setup with a 2 foot mono leader of 6-8 lb. test. I have a great deal of success with Kastmasters in gold and silver with a 3/4 oz. ones. Blue and silver and green and silver ones can also be the ticket for them!! Also try to use jigs and spikes with a plastic tail we call nail tails. they can be a killer when they are on a good bite!!

I havent done much perch fishing unless wanting a guaranteed catch coming off of Squaw Creek here in TX. Used small hooks and worms and bobber. Would Throw out and whamo would take it. If bobber went down and no taker then we reeled in and threw out again would have bit withihn seconds. If ya left it out after the first bite would not get anything. Also I tried a plastic worm the same color and size of worms we using and NOTHING not even a nibble.

1" Extrude swim shads on a 1/32oz roundball. Cast next to the outside weed line off the pads with a 4-1/2 foot St. Croix Premier UL spinning rod, Tica UL Reel and 4# berkley Fireline. Catch them by the bucket load. Had a 13 incher last spring which is a monster around here. We are talking Ring Pearch right? lol
My Brother-in-law with a nice pearch.

I like to use a crappie spreader. if they're biting on the top hook add your 3rd hook to the line connection, if they're biting the bottom hook and it to the sinker. that's where our 3 hook per line comes in handy

I have wanted to catch some ring perch, I heard there are some in pool 13 and above on the Mississippi river. But have never made it yet.
