I finally got the opportunity to give an Acadia rod a short test on Gills at West Lake, near Davenport and again today at City Lake at Monmouth, IL.
The rod is a 6' rather stiff action rod coupled with the ES 100 reel.
The rod is super sensitive, the reel is smooth beyond belief with great finish. I spooled it with 8lb.(3lb. dia.) Blaze Green Fireline. With this line, reel , rod, combo it casts like a slingshot.
I would recommend this rod for Bass ,walleyes or channel cat. Tight cover along a smallmouth stream would make one appreciate this rod in a hurry. The through the handle blank lets one feel every small touch.
The case is VERY high quality. I wouldn't expect to see any better for rods costing many hundreds .
BUT ,for fishing the way I do, I need a rod less stiff in the 7' to 8 1/2' range. This one is not a gilling rod .
A rod of this high quality could use another eye fitted on it also.
Although I haven't seen the F series yet I would imagine that most fishermen in this area would go with the F series which are also very high quality and for sure priced RIGHT
The reel is smooth as silk with a pretty wood handle usually reserved for the very highest end reels. I am perfectly satisfied with the softer materials available today. It was just a bit heavy for this featherweight little rod.
I'm hoping there is a 7'to 8' light action rod with-- say-- 11 matched guides in the same high quality coming in the near future :confused0024:. Thanks to Schoe and WIF for the chance to test this little jewel.:icon_cool: Mike

Great report Mike

Hopefully will be seeing some of the longer U/L style rods that fit so much
of the fishing we do up here in our area
That part bout feeling every little touch sounds like just the right thing
for those light biting walleyes in the river

I got mine yesterday very quick turnaround on the order

RPS-602-L //matched with ES100 Spinning Reel (6foot 2 piece)
RPS-702-M //matched with ES300 Reel rod is 7foot 2 piece

I have been down with flu since early Thursday Morning, but will get out with them this weekend

Initial impression is that these are the highest quality rods I have every had
in hand
Every bit as good as any of the St Croix or other very high end rods that
cost considerably more, and given that they sell 2 for 1 right now, the
price is just outstanding

Very well balanced, very lightweight no doubt can feel a small jig hitting
tops of weeds with them

Reels are "silky" feeling in action

The ES100 which is the smallest may be a bit heavy for the lighter rods Acadia builds , but I have a Shimano that will match to the 6 foot rod perfectly and the ES100 will go on the next Acadia rod I get

The ES 300 is a balanced match to the 7foot medium rod
