I use Power Pro or Fireline most all the time for panfishing. It has saved me a bunch by getting jigs off deep wood .
Today I decided to try something new. I took a BPS Micro Lite 7' 4 pc spin-fly rod and hung a Shimano Symetre 1500 reel spooled with Yo Zuri 2 lb. mono on it.
I took this outfit and my float tube,to a strip mine in the Victoria, IL. area. The water was 15' to 18' ft and gin clear. The line more than met my expectations. The light, somewhat whippy rod, I would imagine, helped some.
I only saved 26 this trip ,and the largest was 9 1/2".
I left a couple little jigs on deep wood, but that was a small sacrifice for the fun of playing around with the light line. Mike

I love fishing with light line, don't spool with anything over 6 unless I am
river fishing an then very seldom go over about 17

Long as the drag is set right you can generally handle bout anything, except when it dives into snags on ya
