okuma combos

I'm thinking about getting myself a new catfish rig, anyone ever try the okuma
fin chaser combo? if so, pro's & con's of their products
the price isnt bad $24.50 + shipping for an 8 foot rod and the reel

The price sounds ok,but the quality is the most important thing,who is
the supplier?is it from a catalog,or store shelf,so you can feel it and check
the construction?

I just found them in the cabelas catalog,on there web site,if you go
there and click on dealers in florida,there are several in your area,where
you can get a hands on look at the product.

Thanks Kirk, I'll have to do that, I was looking through the catfish connection catalog, will compare prices and maybe have a look, if not one of those may buy one at walmart (since I now get that 10% discount) :)

wyndigo i bought my boys the bill dance catfish combos through bass pro last year($30.00) thinking it would just be a starter rod and reel theyd tear up. i was wrong theyre good rods and reels for the money. the boys caught over a 100 cats from 1 -10 lbs on them last summer. and they took the abuse only boys can dish out(walked on ,drug around ect.) with no ill effects.

wyndigo catfish connection is actually part of pana bait company out of illinois. pana is the wholesale part and catfish connection is retail. theyre a good reputable company. i just placed an order and got it it 3 days. be sure to look in both bargain sections. i got 2 6600 ambassaduers for $54.00 each. hey capt. kirk dont tell the boys but dear ole dad sneaks off with their rods when theyre not looking. seriously theyre that good.

gonna save myself some money :) I remembered that my nephews ex-girlfriend left a nice rig in our shed, got it out this evening after work and looked it over, going to change the line and use it (Hopefully next week) for catfish and some saltwater fishing, if I ever get to go again.
It's a cyclone? 2 ball bearing reel on a 7 foot spinmaster/G-series rod
probably not the best rig in the world, but I'll give it a try and save the money in case it "Bites" lol

think I'm gonna go ahead and get one of the Billd Dance setups as well, was just looking at them on bass pro shops page and they are on sale, or I may wait till next month, gonna visit the one in orlando and see what all I can get for my fishing needs :) the rig that belonged to my nephews ex girlfriend isnt that great, will be ok for some saltwater fishing :rolleyes:
