Southeastern Iowa gillin

Yesterday I had some business to attend to in northeastern MO.
I, the wife, and my grandson, Brandon used the trip to get in a little gilling in the area.
Brandon got a few bullfrogs along the mississippi River duing a stop on the IL side down by Keokuk. We stopped at the Shimmik ponds and got some nice gills with Brandon getting the largest big bull gill.
We then checked out Lake Keosaqua for a bit but just got dinks from the bank along the dam.
Since we were so close, we couldn't resist a run over to Lake Seguma. It was getting on to 7:00 pm by then so only got a few nice ones with Brandon again getting the largest.
The little fishing we done sure broke up the monotony of a long drive down and back.

WTG Mile you made it a fun trip. fishin rest stops sound like a good idea
they could have a stocked pond at every rest stop in each state and you
could fish for 2 hours without buying a license?????:icon_biggrin: Kirk

Capt. kirk- - Most rest stops I've been to have a pond. It is tough getting over the chain link fence sometimes though. :evilgrin0039: The areators and the odor are a little overpowering also.:confused0068:For some reason, I can't catch anything out of them. :confused0024: Mike

I bet them fish if ya caught one wouldn't taste very good at them rest areas. I think they are a brown trout of sorts.

Bad idea,just trying to get states to spend some money on something
good instead of wasting it on such things as,Highway Crews 1 guy workin
