Remember 'Beanie and Cecil' the sea sick sea serpent????? My sister and I had beanie copter hats... the string that went under your chin was the rip cord to send the copter part of the hat flying off your head!!!! AND! the best part was, in the center of the copter blades was a secret compartment to send notes back and forth... We were soooooo cool!!!!! ROFL! :party0011:

Speaking of old TV shows... ( I prefer we call them classics, Thank you!) but I remember I wouldnt go to bed at night until "Lassie" waved at me... LOL
And what about 'Walt Disney's wonderful world of color' with all the great classic movies? Shaggy Dog, Beach blanket bingo, Old Yeller etc...and all the great Disney cartoon movies on Sunday nights?

Soupy_1us
08-17-2007, 06:16 PM
Might have been Magpies on your TV but, on mine they were crows......Walt Disney then Bonanza...............I hated to see Bonanza go off ' cause it was bed time and I knew I had to go to school the next day....Don't forget Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea, it was in there some place.

hehe ole underdoggie

When Polly's in trouble, I am not slow,
So it's hip! hip! hip! and away I go.

When criminals in this world appear,
And break the laws that they should fear,
And frighten all who see or hear,
The cry goes up both far and near for
Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!
Speed of lightning! Roar of Thunder!
Fighting all who rob and plunder!
Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

There's no need to fear, Underdog is here.

I am a hero who never fails.
I cannot be bothered with these details.

Sharon

None of them were cartoons, they were just some of my earliest memories. I remember my Great Grandma used to watch Perry Mason (at full volume) every day. And my Great Grandpa would watch Wrastlin'. I miss them days.

An uncle had training on tv's in the service. We were one the first families in our community to have a tv as he patched up an old one and gave it to us. I can remember Saturday nights, folks would gather at our house to watch 'Saturday Night' rasslin'. I can remember Gorgeous George and BoBo Brazil and several other of the early wrestlers.

Went to a live match once... my aunt got so excited she 'most tore my arm off cheering. I was probably about 5 at the time. I still remember the spectacle of it all. It was quite a show... even without steroids.

First TVs !.. Patched up... We had two... One on top of the other....one had sound and the other was used for the picture......The neighbors would throw out their old TVs and my dad would get 'em patch 'em up......Never will forget our first "COLOR TV".. Use to set on our porch and watch the neighbor's COLOR TV through their window.. One more thing afore I go......It's Saturday night........you just got out the tub of bath water ...thinking you were gonna watch some TV.......you go into the livin' room and there it is........................LAWRENCE WELK !!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhggggggg! Couldn't watch nuttin' else 'til mom saw her Lawrence Welk...
