Lately Dianne and I have been watching one of our Granddaughters several
days (evenings) a week here while her mother works
Madison is 10 Months old and is just starting to walk some--has gotten to where she will stand up turn an go, an likes to use the couch to travel along, then she will turn an go at the "target" she wants to walk to
I think across the room is her best so far, about 20 steps, but won't be long before she is bouncing off things :icon_biggrin:
Makes us remember good old days when the big ones were little an used to
be cute an cuddly an still did not know the meaning of the word NO:icon_biggrin:
Seems like yesterday that we were young an the kids that are brining their
kids over were babies themselves
An before too long, this picture of Alex and Madison we took last week
will be the "Good old days" and another chapter will unfold
Here is to hoping that everyone of my friends here enjoys every moment
past an present as much as I am enjoying the days I spend with Dianne
an my family

Well Tim, heres me and my youngest grandson Dagan.. bout 17 months now and bout a month ago or was it two?? he started taking his first woobly steps like a weeble.. now hes running all over the place! :confused0056: Sure didnt take him long to go from wobble to run in warp speed! LOL
Tell ya what strikes me Tim, Sharon... it seems that we as parents or grands, can't wait for them to take that first step... then we never catch up again. Soon they're gone... school, military, job, families of their own. Once they leave 'the nest' it's never the same... they are never the same... the wonder, the innocence and the mutual kindred spirit gets pushed just thiiiiiiiissssss much to the side... and we lose a little part of our youth as they lose theirs.
Love 'em while ya got 'em.... babies is precious..........................

I was fortunate to be at the birth of both my grandsons.. I still think it made for a special connection. The one in the picture? I held him soon as he was born, all slimy and slippery while dad cut the cord.. my daughter was too weak from delivery... what a great experience!! Course while I held him and his brother when they were born, I told them I was the good granny! lol :icon_biggrin:

He is a cutie Sharon!
Sam you are right bout never catching up, but there sure is a sense of pride in watching them grow up, and one thing that we can feel good about, no matter what
direction they have run when they hit the wall they always seem to know that we are there for them an they aren't afraid to come an talk to us
Gotta admit that each one of my grands first time I held them I ended up with Tears
running down my face, same as with each one of my kids
Kinda like was so much feeling building up inside that it had to come out somewhere
so it leaked out the eyes
I got Madison now, an Dianne's daughter let us borrow her toddlers "walker" pretty neat little toy an the baby is running from wall to wall in the room
Lotta fun to watch!

Heck Joe, that side job is lead up to a GREAT fishing trip coming up real soon
That trip will be another one of those memories that you an the boys will share forever
I know just what you mean too bout your daughter, I was scared to death for mine as
well (Madision's mom) but she sure is doing a great job with Madison, think perhaps the things that we tried to teach her an we thought she wasn' hearing actually managed to stick somehow
An we are there for her
Just like your wife an you will be there for your daughter, hell she has great genes Joe,
she will be fine
