since Screen posted about how we camp, I thought I'd post about where :)
its been awhile since I have camped, but at one time camped in the citrus wildlife management area, also did a little hunting there.
Right now I'd like to find a place that isnt too far away, open during the week and has some fishing areas, I know that Medard Park is available (in due time) but does anyone know of any others? A young couple & their son were looking at gear the other night when I was working, they meantioned silver lake, but after checking up on it online, I found out its a friday through sunday only place.
Anyone have any other suggestions? besides a weekday job :p as ya'll know, I just started at wally world and am working weekends.

I think that the prettiest place we have camped was in the fall a couple of years ago at Shanandoah Nat. Park. The rustic campsites were on top of a mountain and down a hilll from the parking lot so at least is seemed you were way out there...lol We stayed a week and it got down in the 40's everynight. We plan to back there this fall.

Wyndigo,

I don't have any scanned into the computer. Both my old computer and old digital camera had to be replaced since then. Sorry!

Most of my camping is at gatherings with the BOC - There it more the experience not the place -

Rockwood State Park near Morrison, IL. is my favorite close to home - good everything -
A place in northern Min. (can't remember the name) was the best trip I ever took - did it some time back when I was in better shape to canoe and hike!

The peace of camping is SOOOOOOOOO nice!

Wyndigo, You could try Kissimmee River State Park. That's not too far from you. Also, there is a small WMA near the Zephyrhills Airport that is called Upper Hillsborough. You have to contact SWFMD for a permit but that is a nice place. During the week you'll be the only people there....but you have to walk or ride your bike in. The headwaters of the Hillsborough River are inside it.

If you have access to a boat you can camp just about anywhere on the edge of Lake Kissimmee and Lake Hatchineha in Polk County. It is public land.
