Just a quick note to let everyone know that the walleyes are hittin like
crazy on Brookville Lake in Franklin County In,hittn jigs tipped with crawler
in 15 to 30 ft of water,This is the same lake that Schoe an Catbird went
to fish a Catfish Tournament, straight across the lake from where they
launched then a little south to the Eygpt Hollow area, fish arent running
big in size but the #s are outstanding,2 1/2 lb to 6 lb right now, this is a
great Eye lake and has a good poupulation of Hybred Stripers, when i get this
movin done the boat is ready to hit the lake.I will continue to keep reports
coming as i get them, and also how the White Tail hunt is going. Kirk

to fish the Championship for the BIG money, going to try my best to get them
signed up on WIF,plus a few more of my old fishin buddys from up that way.

Good deal Kirk.
Walleye season is just getting under way here in the Mississippi River. This is a great fishery for the Walleyes and Saugers that I enjoyed for years and for no reason drifted away from but am going to get back into it this fall.
There's a big Walleye tournament going on here in the Quad Cities this weekend. I believe it is part of the Cabelas Tournament Trail. I will see about going down this afternoon and check out the finals.
Annie, my daughter was talking to a husband and wife team last night that were competing in the Pro Tournament and hopefully they keep us abreast of their travels. Schoe

Schoe, that lake was stocked in the beginning with 18 million walleye
and before they put the 14 inch limit on them there were a lot taken out
they restocked a few million more some time back and set the 14 inch
rule on them, its not uncommen to see some 26 to 29 inchers now,it is
a great fishery for about anything you want from nice gills to monster
blues and flatheads,But you have to get to know the lake, there are broken
up concrete roads and there is the old town of Fairfield still standing
under the water, you want structure Belive me its there. On a clear day
you can see the old town from a plane.I am sending a letter and some
cards to one of the local guides asking him and his friends to sign up. Kirk

Kirk, since this is your territory how about organizing a get together or two for there. One for Cats next year in July and perhaps a Walleye in Sept. sometime.
Who knows , it could get enough response to create a tournament. Schoe

I already been thinkin on it for next year, just have to figure which
campgrounds, and the most convient boat ramp, may do a Catfish Tournament
in mid summer and Walleye in the fall,Im pretty sure when i get the dates
set we will have enough to have a good Tournament.like Schoe said,
Probably Cats in July an Eyes in Sept. The Lake is about 18 miles long, and
2 miles wide in some areas with lots of cover and deep holes some areas
have lots of standing timber.I will get with Schoe and pick the dates and
post a sign up sheet later after we get this year behind us.:icon_cool: Kirk

Know where it's at and how to get there, just didn't know how far... My maps calls for 82 miles....Anyhow, I got a niece in North Vernon, Ind that says that I can stay with her for a couple of days while I'm up there.....So it looks like I might be able to come a fishin' one day or two.
Maybe I can talk gofish into comin' with me.

Me and the Son in law hit the lake tuesday am with high hopes of jiggn
up some nice Walleyes,Well-------------------------------------Wrong
we drifted our a$$$ off for about 5 hours,we found right where they
was supposed to be Butt that front had set in and the wind was from the
north and the sun came up in the East, should have known it was not going
to be a good day,did pick up a few channels on crawlers, fishin was bad
but it was good to get back on my home lake, going to winterize the boat
at the end of the month and start layin in some good eatin fish from some
farm ponds, then put away 3 or 4 doe in the freezer and kick back for
the winter. My ole Fl blood aint use to this temp change yet.:icon_eek: Kirk
