Last Fri. ILL. Giller and myself took our buddy Jordan back out on Rock River up to where we caught them earlier in the week. It was about a mirror performance of the last trip.
The Cats ran from 1 Lb. to 3 Lbs. with one charging the boat and broke the line. I would like to think it was well over 5 Lbs., but we will never know for sure.
It was only a couple of hour that we had to fish and we left a little early before dark because the fuse for the running lights blew and I didn't have a spare.
We kept 13 nice eater size Channels and threw back at least that many, so the fishing was great.
Here's a few photos of the trip. Schoe

I knew it would happen sooner or later as the water was receeding in the Rock River very rapidly getting back to normal pool levels so the Cats moved out from the shallows where we have been getting them the last couple weeks. I tdidn't take long to figure this out as there were no bait fish skipping around anywhere or the tell tale V waves made by fish scurring out of the way of the boat. Hence, we fished around in a few different places back in the shallows with out one bite in an hour and a half. So we left there to try some other spots that has produced.
Jordan did manage to catch one at our last stop that was released to catch again next year. Then we headed back.
Arriving back at the boat ramp there was a young couple fishing from the bank with Stink Bait and the young lady had several in a bucket. So you never know where they will be or what they will bite on.
Here's a photo of the young couple, Chrystal and Durk, and one of me and Jodan explaining our trip. Schoe

I wish I had kown of the seminar earlier. I hope it was informitive, and worth the time spent going.
I went to one of those a few years ago at the EXPO Center during the Outdoors Show, and was bored to death listening to the guy talk about catching blues on rotten chicken parts. He went a whole 5 min on flatties, and a whole two or three on channels. Waste of my time.
