As I showed you before, my son has started building his new house...and I have found a way so not to have to mow so much of my yard... (every man's dream).
First... the block got here and the concrete was poured for the storm shelter...Under the watchful eye of the Project Manager

Well, it looks like the winter rain has set in... The "Building Zone" has been put aside for a while.....The Project Manager is just waiting for the Fat Man in the red outfit to stop by and visit....Maybe she (project manager) is dreaming of a new hammer or clip board or something.
Anyhow the building of the new "Digs" has been put on the back burner for a while.

A while back I told you folks the we were gonna try to build us a couple of houses here at the hill...
Well, after getting tired of being "trailer trash" for so long ( that's what the call people like us around here, that live in homes with wheels ), we got 'em going up.

2 foot???? No wonder you're fishing all the time....

From the top right stake to the bottom left stake... 7.4 foot drop.
From the top left stake to the bottom right stake it's 4.5 feet....
Bringing a dozer in first part of next week if the rain holds off.

And yes, That's the flattest &%$#*^ spot I got left on my hill for a cabin.

Plus we will have to cut a "water way" (ditch) all the way around the hill to stop the water flow down the hill before we start building.
Est. cost 5 grand....(this cost reflects the added cost of a new fill bed for septic system also)
We have contacted the local Amish Tribe about our building and they will be doing the concrete work and foundation.... Maybe some wood work also.
If I can get it under roof by fall, I will be tickled to death.

Don't 'member ifin' I told you guys or not but, a ways back my 'puter died on me...
Now I got me one of them "Big" fancy ones... Ain't got no tower, ain't got no wires from the mouse or key board and the screen is 'most near as big as our old drive-in-movie place.
It's purtty and it's big and it's SICK too.
Done had to call them people that you can't understand a word that they're sayin' and try to get somebody down here to fix it. ( took me two days to get 'em to understand me when I told 'em it didn't work)
They kept tellin' me to stick a disk in it and it would reprogram the whole puter and it would be ok after that.....Two days.....two days have you..... For me tryin' to 'splain to them fine folks that THAT'S THE PART THAT WAS BROKE ! The disk thingie would not play a disk.......

They'll be sendin' somebody down Saturday at 2 in the PM...

Ya noticed I'm back on this here 'puter this AM after I done said I had "LOTS" of work to do today... Well, it took to rainnin' and mom and the daughter-in-law have gone yard sale'n So..... :) I went fishin' 'til the wind got to blowin' real hard....and the rain got to comin'down real hard and here I am......
But, while I was down there , in what we call the river bottoms or the bottoms road I found something....And I got to thinkin' ( yeah it hurts)...

But what may have happened is like my one year old grand son does is pull off his clothes and throw them out the window while mom is driving down the road. After two pair of missing shoes the window stays up in the locked window position. LOL

We broke ground yesterday for her new cabin.... I hope after it's built she'll let me stay in it too.

Dirt works is almost done for Maw's cabin...Waiting for it to dry up so we can dig footer and pour concrete..

Rained again here today (Sunday)... I told you guys how to make it rain....Just dig a place to build a house and say you're gonna pour some concrete......Been rainin' here ever since we dug out for Maw's cabin...
Thinkin' about just makin' a Goldfish pond for Maw. (can't build no cabin on this ground now.)
River is comin back up a bit... Think me and Ole Buddy Lyndell (with two Ls) is gonna try it this AM... Ifin' we can find some bait....He's on vacation this week and wants to catch up on some fishin' .
If it rains again here , I'm sure we'll have time to fish and you guys know you'll be gettin' some good stories from this week.

Now he can catch some mighty fine fish too....
He don't have no fancy boat like mine so he goes with me most all the time, either in the boat or on the bank.... I kinda think of him sometimes as my ole coon hound that likes to fish.
Now me and Lyndell are known to make some screw ups every now and then.. So anytime you see that me and Lyndell are gonna go try it... Watch for a story to come out of it.
Lyndell don't have know 'puter like me so he just wants me to say all of his howdies to you guys when ever he wants to say something, I kinda gotta translate for him on here. He's not much for words.

Well fishing sucks around here so I got something else done....
The foundation of Maw's brand new, never been used cabin.. Between the rain and just not wantin' to work... We got 'er done.
