Freshwater Tournaments/Contests

Anyone know of any tournaments/contests going on around the Central Florida area? Looking more for fun tournaments of any species, that have have low to no entry costs. Not looking to win big money, just for some good ol'e competition and a chance at possibly winning something.

I don't have a boat so I'd be fishing from shore or hitchin a ride.

we will be having our biggest catfish tourny in fla. next week up in wewahitchka in the pan handleand in we have one in march in plant city at the medard park resivoir and they have quite few bass tourny's around here too.you oughta come up and check out the weigh in and meet a bunch of the wif members there next sat.

That would be fun, but I don't know if I can drive all the way up there, low on money don't think I could afford the gas right now. I'm in the process of getting a job, I just graduated college, so it's taking a bit to find a job in my field. Possibly soon or if you guys come closer this way. Never been cat'in but I think I'd have fun doing it. Have one rod I used off the piers in Daytona, think that would hold up to some cat'in.

I've caught a few catfish when I was a kid, but the last time probably was about 10 years ago.
