--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well either Mon. or Tues. A.M. I am going to a pond in the middle of Moline to fish for Rainbow Trout. It is Prospect Park and was stocked last week with 14 to 16 inch long fish. My neighbor brought home a limit this afternoon and they were sure nice fish.

If I do any good I will take and post photos. Schoe

We got skunked at lunch yesterday, but saw lots of dead ones floating. I think we counted 3 dozen floaters in the 45 min's we were there over lunch. Will keep at it.

Anyone else having luck?

Went again over lunch today. We had a few hits, but only managed to catch 1. It was caught on corn kernels, and was about 13" long.
I've never cooked trout in my life before, should be an adventure.

Little update - We went over lunch again today and had much better success. We came back with three and lost two bringing them in.
They have been hitting much better off the bottom than dangling a bobber.

I'm glad someones catching some. Ive been over there twice and havent landed one yet, although I only fished less than an hour each time and really didn't give it much of a chance.

I think I will try it again tomorrow. Schoe

i started off by using slip bobbers but out at prospect it gets deep quickly....so i'm assuming we were suspending them too much...

we were using corn mostly....

well yesterday it was windy and it was blowing the bobbers everywhere...

so we switched and i used a #6 hook and balled up crappie nibblers under a sinker. i prefer a sinker that can slide up and down the line... about the size of a dime.

the nibblers float so they sit a few inches off the bottom.

we got hit after hit. they are touchy.....i landed 2 and harpenter landed 1. but he had 2 other nice ones on but his hooks i don't think were very sharp.

we too have only been going on our lunchbreak and only spending an hour each day out there.

he's out there all morning today...

anyway, they smoked up real nice last night...

Another lunch break, another catch! HND got a really nice one about 2 minutes after we got there....then notta. We got a few hits here & there, but nothing real hard.

Nibs certainly seem to be the bait of choice, although we have caught them on corn as well.

Anyone else fishing out there? I'd hate to see one of you guys out there and not know it's you. Would be nice to say hi & shanke hands if I know it's one of you all. We're normally on the East end of the pond, drive a Pewter Trailblazer.

Sounds good fellas, I'm glad you are getting a few. I haven't had a chance to get over there this last week and am going to Nebraska this evening for the weekend.

Perhaps Mon. noon I will be there driving a black Suburban. Hopefully we can meet up. Schoe

Well, you didn't miss much. It was cold as hell, and the wind made it hard to fish. We did end up with 1, but that's it.

Maybe next time.

Yes it was blustery and cold. I couldn't make it but am looking forward to meeting you fellas sometime. There will be more Bluebird days before freeze up so perhaps we can hook up another time. Schoe
