I recieved my Acadia F-series rod this morning, and could not wait to get it out of the box. At 7 feet in length, it's about 6 inches longer than I am used to, but perfect for eyes and channels. I love the balance of the rod. I was most impressed by the 8 eyelets plus the tip. I have a blue Abu reel that will fit just nicely not only on the rod, but with the color scheme.

I want to thank WIF, and Acadia Sports for the rod. I will as part of the deal give you a full run down of how the rod performed for me as soon as possible.

I'm sure as it is with most companies, Acadia is getting a foothold in the market, and then will sart offering more specialized equipment for anglers when the time is right.

Rainman is right
Acadia has already developed couple things based on customer inputs and I got a feeling
that some heavier rods will be coming

Right now it is more about lure weight than strength of the rod far as I see it
I would bet that their heavy casting rods (up to 1 oz weight) made for musky and
salmon downrigging would up to handling a flathead in current without the rod failing

Lure weight (as I understand it) more about the rods "feel" and optimum casting
than it would be about the rods breaking point

Heck you got guys handling sharks and 10+ tarpon on fly rods

That's all and good for the Sport Fishermen that catches and release......I'm a sport fisherman that catches and fries ! I want something to get it to the boat with no worries..... Remember the Johnson rod and reel last summer.... Ripped the gears out of the reel and broke the rod....
I don't buy from them anymore.

That is what I am talking bout, no reason Acadia can't develop rod that would suit for type of fishing that you do

An far as catch an release versus catch an fry, if you got em to release em you can
for sure bypass that part of it an stick em in the oil

ive got a ultralight rod/reel and the first fish i hooked....well snagged lol was a 15lb asian carp in the river...i guarentee they reels got a fine drag system, never slipped up once in a 15 min. fight with multiple screamin runs an that lil bitty rod handled my abuse extremely well....actually put so much pressure on the fish it was bent in an "s" shape towards the end of the fight...all that on braided line with no stretch, since then ive used it a lot an caught tons of fish on it too....now i dont normally abuse equipment like that but i was asked ta put it thru its paces an give an honest review so i worked er hard lol.....gave it a 10 outta 10......:icon_biggrin:
