View Full Version : Sylvan Slough 11/13/07
Talking with a friend this weekend. Over the weekend he caught over 30 sauger at the slough. fishing by boat in 7-10 ft of water on the arsenal side

me and harpenter ventured out there last night to the east end and didn't have any luck with twistertails...i caught a striper and he caught some goofy minnow that he was all excited about...and i snagged a frikkin drum
the bait of choice has been chartuese jigs and twistertails tipped with a minnow. bouncing it off the bottom. though he talked to a guy who was catching just as many without the minnows...
and they've been catching them in midday in overcast weather.
we hope to get over to the arsenal side as he said when they've been out there, those guys seem to have more luck...
we COULD get out on the boat but SOMEONE has winterized it already...
just an fyi....

Just because you're fishing knowledge didn't include the elusive Quillback, don't take it out on me!
BTW, how did that drum taste?

I had to Google up the Quillback Carpsucker to find out what it was . The last part of the description said--- "very hard to catch using traditional angling methods" :icon_cool::icon_cool: They get up to 26"
Good report hnd, I just couldn't help myself.:confused0024:lol

we've been going at night and during lunchtime. no real luck. trying 3 different spots....everyone else has been light on the bite as well.
i will be heading out on friday/sat mornings. hopefully this 3rd cold front holds off.
