I've been stuck inside lately and doing no fishing - so I decided I'd try to kill some time MacGyver-ing my own inline spinners. Unfortunately, while I do have the wire and some hooks, I don't have the blades, bodies, or beads (yet). So in the meantime, I fashioned my first inline spinner out of a Bud Light bottle cap and some split shot weights. Sure, this sucker will probably sink right away being that it's made from weights, but that's really not the point - I really just wanted to practice bending the wire into the right shape.
From the looks of it, it seems like most members use live (or once live) bait, but has anybody else tried to make their own lures, and do they have any advice? I'm primarily looking for advice on a good wire former (I bent this one by hand with needle nose pliers) and where to find fair pricing on the "bits & pieces" that go into this, like blades, beads, and hooks.
Thanks to all in advance!
