This young lady holds the new Kentucky State Record Crappie which is 4 lb. 14 ozs.
It was caught on 05-08-05 by Penny Hopper at Watershed Lake in Christian Co. Ky.
That is truly a nice fish, Congrats Penny.

New info, as time goes on we are getting more details on this. Apparently, this young lady received a new rod and reel for Mothers Day and went to a local farm pond (watershed?) near Crofton, Ky. and used a Roadrunner lure to catch this fellow.

It would be nice if she or a family member could come forward with their story. Schoe

I agree with you Wildcatter. I'm used to those in the 10 to 14 inch range being good ones around where I live in ILL. Schoe

My first thought was FARM POND and from what i learned this morning,
it was caught in a farm pond and turned as being caught in the lake that
go fish mentioned, still a great fish, but a story that is a bit smelly.
