Great news for you Keith, get that auger ready.
Keep it in MN though, not a fan of the cold. Unseasonably 63 degrees today in PA, and 66 tomorrow for turkey.

sissy!
Just yankin your chain Mike.
With the right gear,I'm always warm and toasty.
Having a portable, heater, gas auger, flasher,UL rod&reel and ice scoop makes it a blast on the ice rearing TLC. Oh.....that's tearing lips continuelessly!
On some days I can do 50 crappies in 60 minutes.
I'll be guiding again this year for those that want world class slabs.

I think the proper term is "sissy boy" and you and your portable heater can call me "Michelle." I like my water liquid. :happy0030:
Have fun out there & post some more pics!

hehehehehehe.....I used to sit out on a bucket in the wind fishing with minnows and a bobber.
Now I fish with a spring and my jig. I need to be out of the wind to see the hit or the wind bounces the spring too much.
I am also 46 and like to play just as hard only smarter.
I do not care what you do your gear is everything.
Why be a primative Pete?
I like being warm.I like being comfortable.
I like filling my limit when other guys can not touch a fish some days.
I like showing other guys the right gear to save them the mistakes
I've made.I like helping shorten their learning curves.
I like it when all of the bugs are dead!
Therefore northen Mn. is God's country to me with pristine waters to fish.

Had nice snowfall here but all melting off fast
Been while since have had some nice yellow perch filets
only one lake round here where I have ever caught em an only time have ever
caught them has been through the ice
Looking forward to the information you can share bout catching them
Don't think there is a fish in fresh water that eats better than yellow perch

a crappie from cold water does.Perch are good ,don't get me wrong.
Gills are damn good too from cold water. Eyes are good ,but perch beat them out by a smidgeon.

LOL
Crappie are awful good too, as are gills an eyes LOL they are all much tastier
caught through ice or "unfrozen" cold water
don't fish for eyes or crappie much through the ice, got GREAT spots
that stay open during the winter time
Might be like the perch so much cuz they are just not on the menu as often so are a "treat"
Harder for me to get on with any consistency any time as compared to the gills or
crappie or eyes
