Anybody go Frog Gigging??

Does anybody out there like to gig frogs?? It haven't been in a few months but my buddies just went out this weekend and got 250+!!!

They are tasty too!!

Great on getting a lot of frogs. I hope there was a lot of friends involved in that weekend Frog hunt since there probably is a limit on the frogs per person.
I love Frog legs and just purchased two pair that were deep fried at a Convenience Store yesterday in Port St. Joe. They were very large and farm raised but were still good.
I haven't seen or heard enough frogs on the rivers where I fish in Ill.to make a mess in the last few years. I think the herbicides and weed sprays have taken their toll on the croakers. The Green and black Leopard frogs that were every where when I was a kid have also vanished. The last place I saw a good population of those Green and black frogs was up on the Ottawa River a couple of years ago in North Eastern Ontario.
You fellas are lucky to have a hunt-able population. Schoe

That was between 4 guys. There is no limit per person or per boat.

I haven't gone gigging in about 10+ years. From what I remember, it was alot of fun. We mainly went at night and I still remember holding the flashlight to watch for the eyes! I don't think I could actually "gig" the frog, but I'd certainly go again to be the spotter!!

I've never been. Call me crazy, but there's something about gigging that makes me feel old... Getting down and dirty with frogs? I'd much prefer to sit on a boat in the evening drinking a cold beer. :cool:

Who says you can't do that while your gigging??;) I really like Frog legs but don't like paying the inflated prices in restaraunts. So, If I'm gonna eat 'em I gotta gig 'em.

Boy you've hit the nail on the head with that one. Prices on all the good stuff is outragious. I'm still not as fond of frog legs as I am regular fish and chips, so I think I'll stick to the boat. LOL! If you get any pics, be sure to post them. :)
