Does your wives go fishing with you ?
My wife goes with me every chance she gets. She is one of the best fishing partners I've ever had. Just the mention of the word (FISHING) and shes out the door waiting on me. It doesn't matter what kind of fish shes trying to catch, if it will bite the hook, it's good enough for her.
She even baits her own hook and even kisses the fish and tells it to go tell it mommy or daddy to come bite her hook.
SHE'S THE GREATEST !!!:D :D :D

Well Catfishirv, you really are a fortunate man. I have been trying for 30 some years to bait her own hook until this year while fishing in Fla. she has started putting her own Shrimp on the hook, and correctly at that.
I can't complain as she has been a good partner on and off the water. I won't even go there about kissing a fish. Schoe

My girlfriend loves to fish with me, but we have only gone once (long story)
it was her first time fishing in 18 years and she caught more fish than I did that day, of course I was baiting the hook and removing fish, but I didnt care
:D we had a great time

I can't complain about this wife, this is my 3rd wife and we have been married 9yrs this coming March 27th. She has been the best friend I've ever had. She surprises me with the things she does sometimes. I think I'll keep this one. She even gave me the daughter I've always wanted. I have 4 boys, my oldest is 24 and he is to lazy to do anything for anybody and the other 3 are good boys ages 20,16 and 11 and my daughter is 16 months. I love them all but none of them will go fishing.
I'll add more later, it's my bed time, I have a business to run in the early morning.
Till tomorrow, ;) ;)

Well Catfishirv, You are indeed fortunate with your Good friend and Lady. And, your children, as a friend told me during a troubled period with me and my son was Schoe, your son is not going to be you, and I guess thats what I expected of him. But he is himself and doing very well in fact much much better than I at his age of 32. Schoe

I and the wife fish together often. She likes easy access bank fishing and I'm often found out a ways in the float tube. She has put up with me for 37 years now as of yesterday. :D If the next 37 work out ok, I'm going to keep her.  Mike

annie my oldest is twelve right so i know i got a couple of years..
but when that time comes i will have a glass box made for my shotgun to go into and a box of rock salt to sit next to it and have the words (in case of boyfriend break glass) etched in it and have it mounted in plain view of the front door when it opens.....

What is it with riding in the boat (beside the theory that they can "work on their tans")? When I go, I go to fish. I don't think about what I'm wearing or anything. But having my sweetie along to fish with is just gravy...

My wife likes to fish but doesn't - she would rather shop or watch basketball or a car race if she has a choice!
Annie - My father-in-law took me to see his gun collection in the basement on Linda and my first date - I don't know if I was a threat or he was looking at his own past? By the way she asked me to her Homecomming for our first date! My three year old grandaughter Madison can not speak to boys untill she is 25, but she can fish with papa anytime!

you seem to be saying that a good cure for a bad relationship is lead poisoning...lol

I'll stay out of this conversation, as I think it would be better just to sit back and listen. Like the old saying goes, you can pick your nose but you can't pick your relatives. Schoe

Schoe,
I'm not staying out of it, but I'm sure laughing my rear off. I've never heard such stories. And the lead poisoning, lol, how funny. And Kirk, too ugly to kiss! LOL!
Screen, I'd say it might have been the scare tactic...but who knows. Is he a sentimental man?

Kirk,
is it as funny as this story:
Schoe, Screen, Rainman, I, and a few others had a fish/camp get together last summer on the Iowa side of the Mississippi. There was one guy there tat was really having a bad week. No matter what he was doing it came out wrong everytime. For the life of me I can't remeber his name at the moment (it was not one of the above named). Anyway, while we were there there was a heat wave going on. Needless to say the fishing wasn't the best. WE would go out for a few hours, come back in for lunch (or to stock up on adult beverages..lol). Meanwhile, our boats were tied at the bank setting in the hot hot sun. Well, a bunch of us stated for the boats to head out and we could smell this terrible smell. When we got to the boats we discover that the guy that was having the bad luck that week, had almost a whole gallon of the nastiest cheese bait that you would ever want to smell. I guess when he got off his boat earlier, he had kicked that gallon of cheese bait over. That cheese bait had melted and ran all over the bottem of his metal john boat. What a mess. We held our laughing down to a polite roar and left him at the bank (we were headed for fresher air). I bet his boat still stinks...lol

Catbird
that is a pretty funny story, but i dont think it beats the one about the
tupperware bowl.
Here goes the story, the wife and i were out doing some night catfishing,
and she always keeps a tupper ware bowl in the boat,to take care of
the tinkle business,Well that night was warm and humid, and she had to
use the bowl, while she was doing her thing, the boat rocked a little causing
her to make contact with the bowl, and i heard some noise and a few
words that i wont repeat on here,i turned around to see her trying to
stand up,and couldnt, the bowl had sealed around her butt.i thought i
was going to bust a gut while she was getting loose, and thru all of this
not a drop was spilled, just picture that,if that aint funny, you must
be dead.:D

my exwife for her birthday wanted to go fishing at these little lakes in the black hills in wisconsin. theyre all connected almost so igot a friend of mine to go with us to help portage the boat.we got all the way to the farthest one before we started fishing. my ex was in the bow dangling her feet in the water when all of a sudden she starts screaming bloody murder gets up climbs OVER my friend in the middle and reaching the back climbs on my shoulders still screaming hysterically. all this in a 12 foot boat.when we finally got her calmed down to where we could understand her she said she looked down and this big turtle was about to bite her toes. long story short we ended up getting the turtle. it wieghed 153 lbs (snapper)and she ate it for supper. oh yeah can you imagine what it was like when i snatched that thing by the tail trying to get to shore? lol. thats the last trip we ever made together and my wife now doesnt care about fishing, she doesnt care when or how long i go either. good woman!

Catbird and Kirk,
What a joy to have you two on here sharing stories! I have to say that imagining your wife with a tupperware bowl stuck to her rear with the boat rocking...well, that was freaking hilarious. I hope you helped her (once you stopped laughing!) before she fell in the water. ;-)

I'm gonna get beat for this...:D
Many moons ago back when me and the wife had first met, all of us guys always went fishing every weekend. We had met two weeks before and she said she'd like to come along since the girls always came out with us. We were yoyoing for crappie. I had to leave for about 30 minutes to pick up a friend that was late coming home from leave so a couple of the guys along with the girls went out setting out yoyos while i picked up bryan. We make it back from town, get a fire goin and here comes the boat. As they were pulling up to the bank my wife stood up, they catch a limb underwater with the motor throwing my wife out the boat. All the while she couldn't swim!! She thought for sure she was drownding!!!! Almost at a yell i told her to stand up. She was in 3ft of water and after seeing she was o.k. i couldn't help but laugh a little............. which didn't help me out one bit. It was cold!!!!! Luckily i had a change of clothes in the truck so i lost my belt which i was glad to give up;) . With everyone working now we get together once or twice a year but i sure do miss those day.......................
