Last time I was in Gander mountain they said they have Trilene XL 2 lb. on bulk for ice line. I've got a pile of reels I'd like to spool up for extras to take to the Kent Lake get together.
Anyone have experiance with this line? Mike

Well ho_shi, I can say that my fish won't be wales for sure.lol
This line test thing can get interesting. CrappiKeith brought up a point I was missing all these years. He recomended .006 dia or less line. I bought a couple spools of 4# test Stren Ice Clear(.006) Nice line. Gander mtn. was out of clear so I and Schoe picked up some of the same #4 test Stren in Bronze color. Turns out this line is.008 dia. Who would believe there is such a difference in a .002 dia. change. The slightly thicker line coils more and doesn't hang limp in cold water.
I now pay little attention to test weight and watch the line dia.for a judge. Thanks, Keith!!! Good rods help a lot also. Mike

used to prefer silver thread because of it being a copolymer line an still retained a very small diameter but the last 1000 yard spools i got i had problems with quality.ya gotta watch different colors or types purty close nowadays with all the varietys out there thats fer sure.

anyone open the box or unroll a few feet from a spool to see how the spool looks before buying?? have noticed too that the same line on 2 different spools can be different.
I have (had) 2 spools of cajun red, nothing but memory but i know others that say has no memory at all (i personally wont buy it for anything but maybe if nothing else catfishin
