Not good news for ice in this area.
I went down to Seaton, IL yesterday to visit my brother. We took a drive along the Mississippi backwaters to check the ice.
There is no ice good enough to walk on between south of Keithsburg, IL to north of New Boston up in the bay area. The edges are just plain gone. Much open water in areas that freeze early. :confused0024:Mike

not good there mike!!! oh well let it melt than, ill just have to get the boat back out!!!
probably not lookin good for this weekend either!!! there is a snow advisery watch out now calling for 4-8 inches in tiffin area.

You could disappear in that real quick like,fishyholica. Load the boat and head for open water. Be careful would you,ice fisherman just ain't right......


ice fisherman not right...lol... dont I recall hearing a story from you where you had to get out of the boat in freezing water and walk it up to the ramp?????...lol.....now ive never had to walk in water to get back from ice fishin!!I know if theres open water to stay OFF THE ICE!!!

yeah no thanks, ill take my chances and wait till the ice is hard again or wait till spring!!!!!something about swiming in freezing water that says not a good idea!!!
