Hey mike, or anyone else, wondering if you ever use egg shells in shallower water, to see the bottom???? my grandpa showed me that yrs ago when I was younger, havnt tried t since though. If I remmeber correct you can see quite a few feet down maybe like 4-5ft or so!!!!!!

If anyone else wondering what im talking about just save your egg shells wash em off crumble em up. when you out ice fishin ( in shanty) drop small handfull down hole and let them sink, thyll lay on bottom and almost mke it look like it glows, looks really cool.

I've heard about that before, but never tried it. I think the water is a little cloudy for that where I've been. I've also heard that it draws crappie to the area from the flash of it falling slowly through the water. It would be interesting to try it. :icon_cool:
As kids we used to chop a hole in the ice and put shelled corn on the bottom to see carp for gigging. That would be expensive now. lol
