@@@@ I recently attended a seminar of Matts on flatheads, I am not a regular flathead fisherman, but I walked away from this seminar with a lot of knowledge that would have taken me months/yrs to develop on my own. He will make sure you understand what hes talking about and will take the time to make sure you do understand. If you would like any more info on either of these events contact me, and I will help you out, or contact Matt (catmatt) himself.
He aslo does occasional events at the Gander Mountain store in Davenport, I will be postiong these up shortly when I get the info...

Greg Gelwicks from Iowa DNR has done a few different radio telemetry studies tracking flathead movement on several tributaries of the Mississippi river.
He will be speaking on the topic of seasonal flathead movement at the quad cities show Friday January 18th, 3:30 pm. there several folks in the quad cities area here.
This guy knows his flatheads, he's done many studies about them and also does some angling too. .

Cummon fellas, Nothing wrong with picking up some learnings from a local fella that knows what he is talking about. :confused0024::confused0024:
Matt haunts one of, If not the ,most remote stretches of the Rock River in search of the good cats. Guess what--:party0045: He FINDS them.:party0045: :confused0024:
Matt also knows how to give a seminar and that is a big plus.
I'm looking forward to attending, but wish it was at a more convenient time of day, like 4:00 am, but I'll adapt. Mike

Matt, I called the number once and got transfred to some gal that said it isn't her dept., but there is supposed to be a form on their website somewhere to fill out. I asked if we could just get there early and pay. She told me that if there isn't enough advance interest it won't be held. If I have to I'll drive up and sign in, but don't want to. Mike

I would just like to know what form to use to send in. They have a long list of downloadable forms on the website, but I can't find which to use.
I'm not sure you can sign us up without payment. It might be a national security thing.:confused0024::confused0024: lol
This seminar is on chanell cat and I was thinking the Gander ones are on flathead. Mike

Thanks Jason, Just yesterday I got an E-mail from Jill (Matt's wife) that stated the Feb 1st seminar has been changed to the new date you posted (Feb. 23).
The outdoor writer, Bob Groene, who does the Outdoor page for the Moline Dispatch, Rock Island Argus, and the Leader will be posting about the Gander Mountain seminar to help us get the word out to the local public. A big thanks to Bob for that.
I do urge all those within the driving area to attend this event. I have been to one of Matt's seminars and really gained more knowledge to increase my Flathead catches.
Also I plan on attending every one of Matt's seminars that I can and urge all of you to do the same.
Don't forget the one in Sterling on Feb. 6th at the college. I will be at this one as well.

The upcoming Seminar at Gander Mountain would be the perfect time and place to choose the winner of the Acadia Reel. We will have an independent person choose the wining number.
If the winner is in attendance I will throw in a Acadia rod to go with it. Schoe
