I am on the hunt for an accurate small fish scale for weighing gills and crappie.
I haven't seen one that I could weigh a one pound gill.
I have got a few gills (darn few) that I figured were in the one pound range but wouldn't mind weighing one if I get the chance again. :icon_cool:
I would also like to have it fit in the pocket of my float tube. Mike

I have found the scale I want, but will be a while shopping due to the price.
The Pelouze PE5 postal scale looks to be just the ticket.:party0045::party0045: It will fit in a 1 gallon freezer bag for protection and fit nicely in the float tube pocket, along with my camera that I store the same way.:icon_cool::icon_cool:
These things are pricey at retail, but I have the advantage of time. lol
This will put the kabosh on the 12-14 oz. gills that most are calling "pounders" lol When I say "most" I'm not counting you and I of course.:evilgrin0039::evilgrin0039: lol lol
This lil scale is right on the top of my boy toy list now. I'm on the HUNT!!! Mike

My wife uses that scale for her online business *shamless plug here* (http://www.geocities.com/diaperbagsbykc/), it's a nice scale - I've used it too for some small things I've sold on eBay.:happy0158:

One warning for out on the water. The tray/platform that (in your case) the fish would sit on is not attached to the base. It just rests on the base loosely. Actually comes off quite easy. Just wouldn't want a 'gill to flop around while on it and knock the tray in the water. Don't know if it would float or sink, but if the latter, would make you're scale a nice paperweight.

I do realize that I would have to be carefull with that thing.I'll attach a lanyard to the protective bag, weigh with the scale still in the bag ,and verify my weight on shore when I get there.
This thing will be handy for keeping records of the size ratio for the different lakes I fish.
These little toys just add to the experiance.:icon_cool::icon_cool:

Now there is one man who has it BAD!!!!!!!!

I have seen the battery operated ones (mail scale) advertised in the coupon pages of the Sunday papers for about $12. Don't know how good they are but it is better then the 30-40 at Staples etc...
