Me and the dog went out to the marina today, I wanted to check out the river conditions here in sterling....Rivers up a little here not much though, I wouldnt say no more than a foot, some ice spots were thick and packed up, other areas were open water...
I heard from a buddy that the dam in Dixon,IL which is a few miles up river from us in Sterling is leveled off and froze over. Also just read in paper that Rockford area is really high....Not looking good for us in Sterling when thaw time comes around.......

heres a slideshow of some pics I took...notice the frozen in pontoon boat, hes not going anywhere

Thanks for the views - well if it stays cold?

Jason, you will just have to get that boat from Ky. for an ice boat.

Jason, The river looks pretty tame up that way. It is broke up and refrozen down here. When the ice broke up last time my son drove across the bridge near the airport, The ice was moving slowly and piled high. Mixed in with the ice were 4 docks and a john boat.:confused0068: Mike
