I'm sure this is a topic that Kenny will love. He likes to keep plenty of stink bait around to dip his crackers in while he watches the Mrs. catch fish. :icon_biggrin:
I am of no help on this topic. Tried stink bait once and ain't never tryin to get that stuff off my hands again. :icon_biggrin:

On the Rock River the good old stand by "Stink Bait" has saved many a day when even my favorite bait, "Chicken Livers", has let me down.
In our two state area, ILL., and Iowa, we have several Dip bait makers and each one produces Catfish in one place or another. One that is made locally here is one of the hottest baits in Fla for Cats.
Colors, I can honestly say that I haven't noticed any one color of bait tube making a difference. I think it depends on what you put in or on them.
Of course all the above is my opinion for what thats worth so let's hear some others. Schoe

Jason, go to any paint store and beg a few paint sticks and cut them in half. They work great to apply the stink bait and scrape off well on the lip of the stink bait container.
This saves pant legs and nasty fingers. Schoe

Yellow then pink for me - but I have something a little different for dip that I got at (I believe it's bunnys) the bait shop in Dixon. Holds the dip better and that is what it is all about. Try to post a picture if I can.
Now I like wheat thins best Kenny.
Schoes idea really helps to keep that stuff off your hands. I use TJs because he is a customer and I can't see any difference in any of them. All taste the same!

Being in the horse country here around Ocala, Fla. My horse vet saves me those big syringes. They work great to keep stink bait in. I keep a bunch of em loaded up with bait and store em in a big tupperware container in the fridge. You can squeeze the stinky stuff into the dip worms and never touch the smelly part.

I believe that i have noticed a difference in colors at times. My two favorite colors to use are pink on one pole and yellow on another pole in the rock or on the mississippi. I dont know if it really is the color or not but whenever i put a purple one on i always catch a big one. I use about the same size worms which are 2.5in. or so, and J&N worms dipped in G&S cheese is always the way to go for me!!

Fishaholic i used dip alot around the pay lakes. But hanging around gofish i have not used in a long time. I like to froget the worm and eat it lol. Get some vegetable oil and a stick. Mix the oil with the bait intill runny . Dip whatever you want into it . throw out. Works good in hot water lakes.

White Zipper-Dippers and Sony's Blood Bait are tops for eat'in size Channels and Blues on the Appalachicola River. At Turkey Creek, black or red Dip Worms and Catfish Dynomite (Catalpa) are hard to beat. Just don't forget and accidently rub your nose....LOL....Ray

Not sure how I missed this one. I used to use a brown in color "zipper" worm that was about 2 inches long. I now use a bait holder that has little "loops" all around it. It works wonders in ponds. I know the company from Dubuque makes a wonderful bait that stays on them well.

Fishaholic, when you do it and put it back to blend and chill,it goes back
being more solid like it was in the jar.
Question on Dip Worms,if you have coated it properly then it it completley
covered,so what difference does the color make :confused0024: Kirk
i am no expert but in order for dip bait to work it needs to wash off and chum the water right?that would be where the color comes in?
