I have read the sections in this catagorie and great info here!!!
I also bought a Crappie mag. off the stand so here is what I am asking:
I am one of those DUMMIES who needs to be lead by the hand or shown a picture of sorts! If you guys show some pictures of tackle you use that works - describing just doesn't work with all that is available and printed out there - some times the things you describe doesn't compute! If you tell us about it please also show it so a beginner crappie hunter like me can learn! Draw some pictures so to speak or refere to a page on a site that showes what you mean!
So I have asked for those too timmed to look stupid like ME!
Thanks for your help!

Screen,
My best lure for crappie you don't need a picture of. Just a regular crappie minnow (live) with a J-hook through it's lips...lol I have heard of a lot other methods but this one works best for me.

www.customjigsandspins.com (http://www.customjigsandspins.com)
click on soft body lures
click on ratsos only get the largest size and dont bother getting the rigged ones only buy the bodies. there are cheaper places to buy 1/32 oz jigheads. rig these under a bobber for crappie and bluegill. i use these ice fishing and tear the crappie up through the ice to the point i dont even use minnows anymore.
if you want to try ice jigs in warmer water go to www.jamminjigs.com (http://www.jamminjigs.com) and take your pick. they also will send you samples if you want.

Thanks Catbird and gofish - Some of you fish-a-halicks can be of great service to us part time guppies! LOL
We don't always know what you mean because of our lack of overall experience! Kind of like when Catbird was introduced to jugging! To me a Catfisherman, there was but wasn't a lot to learn but with other species there are presentation, colors, size and so much more to learn!

Screen,
I had forgotten that on that trip to the Mississippi was my first time jugging (even though we mostly caught turtles...lol). Yeah, Schoe was the one that turned me on to it. The style I now use was suggested to me by Slingblade. I have a couple more ideas that I am going to introduce to my present style. One idea I stole and the other one is mine. It is getting close to that time so I better get to making them. After I see how they work out, I will share the design with the members of WIF.

Screen, most of the time i use the same thing catbird refered to. Just a simple J hook with a large minnow. Just following along the brush, and structure dipping it down to about three feet slowly and bringing it back up. No floater involved. Usually good for a limit around here.

Schoe, we made it out to the river the last couple of weeks. First trip we ended up with three. Not much size to them, but its better than skunkin anyday. The trip last week we done alot better. We did move about twice as much finding our fish behind two dikes. We fished anything and everything that even looked fishy. Anyways we caught a 19, 14, 9, and three others that was 5 or 6 pounds a piece. How's florida treating ya? Its gotta be nice......................
