spent the last 2 days ice fishin kickapoo again......fished the same ridge both days,by the time i left today id covered the length of it. bout 150 yards of holes lol...yesterday john h joined me and we tore up the gills and had a few trout and crappie.the last hour i was there i just fished for bass and got 33 on jiggin spoons and 1/32 oz. jigs..no big ones though but fun........today i started the day drillin and opening yesterdays holes back up.had an easy 100 holes ta fish by the time i was done lol.got right on the crappie and had 23 right around 10 inches,bunch of gills and redear and a limit of trout.....no bass today,didnt take time to fish for them....took all day to fish all those holes a couple times by my self lol:icon_biggrin:........wheres kenny when ya need him lol

Sounds like you and John had a good outing together,man i can hardley

Gee whizz Joe, You've been hammering those fish pretty good. Wish I could say the same. I've been in the shop doing that dreaded "work" thing, and haven't been out at all. :confused0024:

Forgot to ask if John has a shack. I know that Joe still likes to set out in the open to stay more mobile, and it works very well for him.:confused0024:
My old bones prefer a shack for a little protection. As the sun gets warmer this time of year it's not so bad, but my working in a heated shop all the time doesn't help me get used to the cold these days . I just put up with the inconveniance of dragging one around. Mike

ive found no need to get one yet.... id rather stay mobile and honestly the cold dont bother me in the least...shoot the day me and joe were out i had to put my gloves on once lol

wanted ta hit another pond out there today for some cats on ice but have to do a maintenance call on an electric gate we installed....allready got it figured the calls gonna take 5 minutes but blows my whole day.....that an 6 inches of fresh snow make pullin the sled a pain lol

caught bunch of nice gills, a few smallish crappie and the only trout i sen , was bout 6 people out there fishing, was kinda slow most of the day but still got a nice mess to cook up for dinnner....gonna hit heritage lake here in rantoul tommrow get me some big crappie and stuff

yeah opened up your old holes and drilled few new ones... 2 of the folks out there were first timers there they said, and there was 2 dudes who were there friday, an older guy and his son who was probably in his 40s

ohh i wasnt even going back today ice was cracking yesterday afternoon when i tried to leave.. could feel it give a bit, wasnt gonna chance it anymore..

Me and gofish had ice any where from 2.5 /4.0"The 2.5 was scarry we was not fishing that just walking from point a to b. The ice was thinning up latter in the day
